9 times out of 10 you may have heard someone in your life say " that's not it my budget". Or maybe you say this often. But the question really is ..what is a Budget?
Do people even really commit to their "budgets" ? Or is it equivalent to a New Years Resolution.. sounds good.. you try it.. then give up 1 month later? And the answer is.. it depends. And the one huge thing it depends on is your own self discipline. What keeps you from consistently saving a portion of your money? fast food, outings, bills, clothes ?.. whatever it maybe.. It is a perfect time to figure out what that thing is... is it necessary?.. can it be eliminated or reduced. Or just plain.. can I stick to a budget at all? Does a budget even make a difference?
By 24 I was a homeowner, college graduate, with a savings account and managed to keep a good credit score while doing it. And I was able to gain this through one constant commitment.. A budget!
The first step ... sacrifice
Now that I have created a habit of executing my own budgeting system, it comes easily. It was all worth it. I have created a promising financial profile for myself considering that I do not come from a wealthy family, no inheritance, no handouts, no crimes..no regrets .. and that's the beauty of it ...
Now that I have seen first hand how planning and budgeting can create a rewarding system I want to share the things I have learned as well as things I am researching and learning now with everyone who is willing to listen.
